The Bonnet Cowl is recommended for use with redundant chimney systems and can be supplied with a birdguard mesh if required. The simple design helps to minimise rain entry into your flue preventing structural decay with potentially costly repairs in the long term.
The unit is available in our usual trio of colours (terracotta, buff and black) and is easily secured to your chimney pot with the use of a stainless steel strap.
Stainless steel strap and fitting instructions included.
Suitability
Details
We make and powdercoat these bonnet cowls in our own factory here in England.
What is it for?
If you have a disused chimney - otherwise known as redundant or dead - a Bonnet Cowl will save you a host of chimney problems in the future. By reducing rain entry, whilst still allowing ventilation it will assist in prolonging the life of the chimney.
What sizes & options are available?
The Bonnet Cowl will fit onto a standard round chimney pot with 150mm to 250mm internal diameter (6" to 10").
It is made from aluminium and is available in natural (unpainted), or powder coated terracotta, buff or black.
A mesh birdguard insert is available if required but please contact us if you wish to order one as it must be treated as a bespoke order.
How do I fit one?
The Bonnet Cowl is easily secured to the chimney pot using a simple and effective leg and strap system. The stainless steel strap fits around the exterior of the pot over the legs to hold the cowl in place.
What if it won't fit?
As manufacturers in the UK, we make different sizes to order. A stainless steel version can also be made to increase longevity. Just give us a ring or email us for details and prices. We can normally have a special unit delivered to you within 10 working days of your order.
** Please note, chimney pots are not included.
Important Note
We advise that your chimney or flue is inspected and swept by a qualified chimney sweep before fitting a chimney cowl or terminal. We also recommend using a professional to specify the correct product for your fuel, chimney system, size and needs. If you require any help or advice please call us on 01243 539639.
We cannot take responsibility for any terminal or cowl that has not been specified or fitted by a professional and is not suitable for your application.
