The UFO Multifuel Cowl is made in our own factory here in England from either aluminium or stainless steel and then powder coated if required.
What is it for?
If you have a problem with downdraught and are burning solid fuel (wood, coal or oil) or using a gas system then the UFO (Ultimate Flue Outlet) Multifuel Cowl is a good solution and has been used for many years to good effect. The UFO’s specially shaped discs channel wind to create an updraught (or lower pressure) at the top of the system to counteract wind related downdraught.
What sizes & options are available?
The UFO Multifuel Cowl will fit onto a standard round chimney pot 150mm to 250mm internal diameter (6” to 10”).
The UFO Multifuel Cowl is made in either powder coated aluminium available in terracotta, buff or black or in stainless steel available in natural (unpainted), or powder coated terracotta, buff or black.
How do I fit one?
For gas systems
The UFO Multifuel Cowl is supplied fully assembled ready for gas installation. Once up on the roof, it is the work of a few minutes to attach the cowl using the stainless steel strap.
For solid fuel systems
Before installing on a solid fuel system the mesh birdguard must be removed, and the four mounting tabs must be adjusted (full instructions provided) - you may find it easier to order our UFO Solid Fuel Cowl which is factory assembled ready for installation on a solid fuel system. Once up on the roof, the cowl is attached easily using the stainless steel strap.
What if it won’t fit?
As manufacturers in the UK, we also make Square UFO Multifuel Cowls, and different sizes to order. A UFO Multifuel Cowl with a sleeve in octagonal or hexagonal shapes, together with units suitable for crown pots, bishop pots or tulip pots can also be made. Normal delivery time for a special size or shape is 10 working days from order.
